Music, love and celebration at Diest Citadel

To give meaning to each new day through acts of love was the message I took home after photographing Lara and Willem’s celebration of love.

In the cosy setting of Diest Citadel, with music and the stage at the heart of the celebrations, I was reminded once again of the many ways love can be expressed. There is something incredibly special about being invited into such an intimate moment, witnessing two people speak their promises to one another and begin this new chapter together.

And, as so often happens, I found myself almost brought to tears as Lara and Willem read their wedding vows. Those words, spoken so openly and sincerely, were a beautiful reminder that beneath all the details, music and celebration, a wedding is ultimately about one thing: choosing each other, and choosing to fill the days ahead with acts of love.
